Wait a minute... you're a photographer, right?
Yep! I started my photography business in 2008 and have grown it organically to a successful business and along the way with the help of a few very expensive degrees, personal and professional experience, as well as a genuine love for empowering people, in 2020 I started offering consulting services.
Some may not know this, but my very first (2) jobs, because apparently even as a teen I couldn't do anything basic. {haha!} I worked part time at Foodlion (I feel like we all did!) and I worked part time as a photo tech at CVS! When I originally went to college, I wanted to teach. So I got my first degree in Elementary Education with a focus on English, minoring in Photography and taught for a year in Greenville NC. I also worked part time at Easter Seals UPC and absolutely LOVED working with all of the sweet kiddos. I learned so much about gratitude, diversity, equity, and inclusion of all people in working with those who were born with a variety of learning disabilities, physical abnormalities, and unique characteristics that made them imperfectly perfect. This experience fueled my passion for inclusion and working harder to find ways to implement inclusive change into the world a little a time.
I knew I loved teaching, and I loved the art of creating pure moments through portraiture and leaving people with memories that would last. So, I went back to college and got my second degree in Business and focused on communications and marketing. Learning how to reach my ideal people, and further spread joy through my work. I had struggled trying to figure out just how I would incorporate this new aspect into my already running photography business, and for a while, I just used the knowledge I gained to better my business.
Global pandemic....
In 2020, the world essentially shut down. My photography business wasn't essential so I had to close for about six months. Thankfully I am a planner and always strive to prepare for all the things, however being closed for six months due to a pandemic wasn't really on the is prep list... {haha!} Well, what I teach my clients is what I had to do myself. PIVOT. I knew with everyone needing an increased online presence while working at home or doing business online; I had a unique set of skills that I could offer to help and continue to provide for my family. This is when I started consulting.
Teaching businesses how to create a brand that truly represents themselves, their mission, their values, and their goals is something that makes such an impact. Being able to also provide them with customized photography and video reels for their business as well makes me a one stop shop for businesses who are just starting out, businesses that need to clarify their branding, or businesses that need a refresh.
So, how does this work?
I offer 20-30 minute consultations free of charge. These are to gauge whether we are a good fit.
From there, I offer strategy sessions for $150 per hour where you can pick my brain and we can put together a plan for moving forward.
Depending on what all is needed, I offer as much or as little as you may need. From curating a custom brand kit, designing a new website, launching social media platforms, to teaching my fully inclusive 5 C's to Success Proven System and creating a fully comprehensive business plan and everything in-between.
